Solo Set
A solo performer controls multiplicities used to cover themselves in anonymity.
The intimacy of a solo performer is obscured with semi-autonomous audio-visual layers that mask their ‘aloneness’. Performing in a dark room, the performer avoids the direct gaze of the audience. Instead, a webcam captures non-identifying features of the performer’s body and projects it onto a central screen; the image is brutally distorted using motion and audio data captured from the performer’s gestures.
The sound from their instrument oscillates between hyper-amplification to where each micro-movement is naked, to computer-assisted chaos that brutalizes the live sound into a symphony of strange robots.
